WELDER I – Up to  3 YRS EXPERIENCE- Responsible for basic welding operations. 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Entry level welding
  2. Tack welding as required
  3. Work under close supervision
  4. Must pass test plate requirements for any process required
  5. Maintain clean, orderly and safe work area at all times.
  6. Adheres to all company policies and procedures paying special attention to safety. Wear personal protective equipment in accordance with regulations.
  7. Performs other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
  1. Oral & Written Communication Skills                                                                            
  2. Reading Skills                                                                          
  3. Limited Knowledge In;
    1. Welding
    2. Weld symbols  
    3. Machine Set-up and Maintenance,
  4. Limited welding experience and need to pass test plate requirements.                            
 
 
                                                                       
WELDER II-  3 - 5 YRS EXPERIENCE- Develop and implement weld processes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. All of Welder I duties plus the following.
  2. M.I.G / T.I.G. welding as required.
  3. Read & interpret blueprints.
  4. Set up metal fabricating equipment as required.
  5. Performs metal fabricating duties; {ensuring traceable & correct material is being used, selecting                                     appropriate welding equipment & wire}.
  6. Monitors equipment and performs routine maintenance as needed.
  7. Weld only to specifications that you have been qualified / certified to weld.
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
  1. Terms and definitions, blueprint reading, weld symbols, machine set-up and maintenance for consumables that are being utilized.
  2. Adjustments of machines are performed without assistance.
  3. Knowledge and motor skills are used under moderate supervision.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
WELDER III -  5 - 10 YRS EXPERIENCE- Advanced Welder
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. All of Welder I and Welder II duties plus the following.
  2. Performs metal fabricating duties using welding machines and QC tools; {ensuring traceable & correct material is being used, selecting appropriate welding equipment & wire, selecting appropriate hand working materials, assembles sheet metal materials}.
  3. Operates metal fabricating equipment daily according to engineering/customer specifications and
            requirements.
  1. Trains and directs lower level personnel in the operation and use of welding equipment and related
            tasks.
  1. Applies knowledge of assembly to perform sheet metal fabrication.
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
Considered to possess knowledge, attitude, skills, and habits to perform (procedure) tasks independently; including selection and use of appropriate techniques and equipment. Applies theoretical knowledge and motor skills with minimal supervision.
 
WELDER IV-(Fitter) -  10+ YRS EXPERIENCE- Advanced Welder and Fitter
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. All of Welder I, Welder II, and Welder III duties plus the following.
  2. Regularly handles the most complex and difficult assignments in the work area.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
Considered to possess knowledge, attitude, skills, and habits to perform (procedure) tasks independently; including selection and use of appropriate techniques and equipment. Applies theoretical knowledge and motor skills with minimal supervision. Ability to allocate work to others and to organize and coordinate welding activities.
 
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Shop/Weld
**While working in this environment, the employee will be exposed to machinery, moving equipment and material, moderate noise, airborne particles, fumes and various levels of temperature created by the manufacturing process.
 
 
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
Welder Machine Operation and Job Hazard Awareness
 
EDUCATION & TRAINING:
High School Diploma or Equivalent-preferred.
